Mackenzie Sheppard is a film director. He is Canadian, born in the Uk, but was raised in Japan from the age of 5. He currently lives in Tokyo. His visual diversity and magical take on stories has received widespread acclaim around the world.

His work has been recognized at award winning festivals around the world, such as the Cannes Young Director Awards in both 2015 and 2016, and Ciclope Festival. His ‘Liberty Fields’ docu-film for Guinness won Best Web Film at AICP 2020. Nominations include British Arrows and two Webby’s in 2022. VISIT EARTH, his first original series was nominated for Best of the Year at the Vimeo Festival 2020, and viewed over 50 million times on YouTube. He is also actively shooting and developing a variety of series and movies. SiGNALS was his first indie mini series that premiered in 2021. His most recent work includes an award winning music video for Nike, a recurring series for IKEA, and a series for the New York Times. He won a Cannes Silver Lion for his award winning music video Nike Juku in 2023, and was shortlisted for another 9 Cannes Lions in 2023.
